President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. kicks off his two-days State Visit to the Republic of Singapore through a meeting with the Filipino community gathered at the Ho Bee Auditorium of the National University of Singapore (NUS) on September 6, 2022.

Over 1,500 overseas Filipinos workers (OFWs) gathered to welcome the President in Singapore where he won a landslide victory in the recent Presidential election after securing 70% of the total votes cast — the second highest voter turnout for overseas automated voting in the Asia Pacific and the third highest in the world.
With an estimate of 200K OFWs living and working in Singapore — 58% of whom are registered as professionals and skilled workers, while 42% are employed as household service workers — Singapore was the second largest source of overseas Filipino remittances worldwide for the year 2021 that amounted to US$2.20 billion.
