League of Provinces of the Philippines summoned to discuss rice production


The League of Provinces of the Philippines  summoned to discuss rice production, farmers’ income.

Representatives from the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) have conducted aboard meeting with the goal of increasing the outputs of rice production and farmers' income.

                     
                                           

The said meeting was headed by Food and Agriculture chairperson Rodito Albano III, Isabela Governor with 31 other local chief executives of rice producing provinces to discuss the problems related to rice production.

The requirement for information on local rice stockpiles to support national government initiatives, guarantee a sufficient supply of the food staple, and safeguard farmers'  livelihood and income was one of the issues brought up during the conference.

The activity gave the representatives a chance to discuss regional techniques  for raising agricultural productivity, welfare, and income. 

Gov. Albano pointed out that the meeting was just the first of a series that will allow the league to talk about problems and challenges related to the agricultural industry.

The committee's head emphasized that this is also their means of "influencing national programs and policies to make them relevant to local situations on the ground."

A number of the country's governors were present at the board meeting, including the  LPP chairman and governor of Quirino, Dax Cua,the LPP   executive vice president and Gov. Susan Yap of Tarlac, Governor of Bukidnon Rogelio Neil Roque, Gov. Arthur R. Defensor Jr. of Iloilo, Leyte Gov. Carlos Jerico Petilla, Nueva Vizcaya Gov Carlos Padilla, Atty Judy Carol Dansal Administrator of National Food Authority and Benny Antiporda of National Irrigation Administration also attend the said meeting.
