“Anything is Possible” By Micko Aldave
We can do everything and anything is possible for the betterment of our country if the people are obeying what the law is and if the Filipino people are disciplined. Furthermore, the country will be better if our constitution is well appropriate for the rights, needs, and wants of the people. Because the constitution is the guidelines of the country on how are we supposed to do, what our limitations are, how our freedom will be used, and the functions of ourgovernment. Are we in an authoritarian government that can discipline our countrymen? Or in a democracy that can exercise our rights freely? Like the freedom to speak, live, have property, travel, and enjoy our lives without hindrance. Freedom is not free, it is a responsibility.
After the Marcos era, many presses abused their freedom by devastating the reputations of the Marcoses.
Some were facts, but some were bluffs because of the political ambitions of its rivalries. However, the country will not achieve progress if we can not balance our freedom and if we will devastate others. Our government is the parents of every country that can guide the people, that can do more appropriate laws for the betterment of the country, that can punish the people who will breach the law, and will be responsible for everything.
If the government is not responsible for everything, and can easily acquiesce to the problems in our society, then the country will be destroyed. Furthermore, corruption in government should be eradicated or at least should be diminished. Because if corruption will prevail, the people will not trust the government anymore, because the majority of our countrymen are taxpayers. So, if there is corruption, all the people will be dismayed and will be perplexed to pay their taxes, abide by the laws, and can easily sort to forget what the missions and visions of our country are.
How can we trust those who are incompetent leaders? How can we give our trust to those people who do not know how to use police power, how to create laws, and how to lead the people because he is just a member of a political dynasty? Political dynasty has two sides. First, the competent political clans because they know how to control the functions of the government and can make laws that are more important to the people.
The last one is the incompetent political clans because they do not know what to do, and what are they supposed to do. They are prevailing because they are prominent names like for example, he is known because he is a celebrity, popular in sports, etc., then he ran for the local government positions, then after a decade, his relatives or a member of his family ran for any local government then they established a fat political dynasty.
Unfortunately, the incompetency inherited from the celebrity is because of being an idiot in governance. How can we trust them How can we trust our future? Because being incompetent leaders, they can be easily manipulated by the people around them that have self-interest. We wouldn’t want that and we cannot blame those incompetent political clans, but we can eradicate them by amending the constitution. We understood that we have the freedom to express ourselves by running for any government officials because we have a concern for the country, but having concern should not be enough to run if you do not know how to lead the people, how to use police power, how to impose the law, how to make laws that can pertain to the people.
Because you are not a lawyer who understands what the laws are, understands how to use his police power, how to impose the law, understands the international laws and international relations, understands how to create more laws for the people, who cannot do malfeasance that is inapplicable for everyone. If you are not a lawyer, or at least an economist who understands how the economy works by knowing how to deal with foreign investors, how to eradicate poverty by having an alternative way, how to diminish the oil price hike and price of goods and services, understands how the supply and demand works, understands what the laissez-faire economic policy is, etc.
The voters should have a high standard for who should we vote for. Because the politician aspirants will lead us, will decide what to do whether good or bad for us, and will impose laws. If we will choose someone competently, our country will be progressive. His term is not enough and the people will aspire to him to have a forever term. But on the other hand, if we will choose someone incompetent we will suffer and will wish that he has to leave his position and not finish the term. Eventually, a progressive country will be achieved if we have strong qualifications to run for the government.
